Before there was Alpha, there were the very first Bo Jackson Battle Arena trading cards ever made. The N’24 Starter Kits debuted on the floor of the National Sports Collectors Convention.
The first product BoBA ever launched. The N’24 Starter Kits debuted at the 2024 National Sports Collectors Convention. Our very first cards ever stamped, sold and ripped on the floor of the biggest stage in the hobby. One in seven boxes carried a serialized box topper, and the BoJax N'24 Auto /99 was handed out randomly as a giveaway to people at the booth.
Before we even had a full set in the wild, the team felt it would be fun to commemorate the first major sport championship of the BoBA era.
LA closed out NY in five to claim the 2024 title, and the inaugural WCS Box preserved the moment in a collectible fans would appreciate forever. Admittedly, we didn't know at the time just how coveted BoBA World Championship boxes would become.
The Battlefoil box contains a Battle Trainer Kit (BTK) along with 2 limited edition packs of 10 cards (a non-foil pack and a Battlefoil pack). Then we have the Kanjifoil alt-art box that also has those same 2 packs and an exclusive 3 card alt-art pack in an anime art style. There was also a base version offered that only had the non-foil card pack. We initially offered a few custom boxes with cut autos embedded into the box, but due to manufacturing issues we worked with those buyers to provide refunds or alternative products of equal value instead (ie autographed baseballs).
So, if you are looking for these boxes today the Base version, Battlefoil version and Kanjifoil version are what you can find on the secondary market.
The launch Day Bundle was one of BoBA's first products on card shop shelves and built for day-one buyers who wanted the full Alpha experience in one bundle. One Blaster Box, one Battle Trainer Kit (containing a Collector Booster pack), and an exclusive Day One Promo Card.
While tons of amazing hits were in play inside these boxes, the guaranteed Day 1 promo card was the main attraction. The "Sliding BoJax" (as it's now called) was our first ever horizontal card and (so far) other horizontal cards have only shown up in future Release Day boxes. At Battle Arena we like vertical cards the most, but since the horizontal cards are very rare, it helps make them a little more special.
Alpha introduced the world to BoBA at scale. A brand-new collectible card game that featured super heroes inspired by athletes past and present was the new kid on the block.
What made Alpha matter most wasn't just the cards. It was the friends that gathered and the joyful moments had that helped create the early lore of what was to come. Alpha is where the first pack pulled inspired ink on-card autographs were hit and BoBA Fansville had it's first chance to meet supers that would go on to be playmat legends like AI, Young-Gunner and Boz along with mascots in the making Billy and CJ.
Once Alpha dropped, it didn't take long for many of us to realize that BoBA was going to be special.

Blaster BoxThe 2024 Fansville Series: Sandstorm Edition was built to test the market's appetite for a limited edition series for super fans. With BoBA being based in Columbia, South Carolina, we chose to start with our local team with heroic athletes like Xavier Legette and Ethan Petry.
The set quickly became a fan favorite. It also opened the door for BoBA to keep exploring the Super Fan Series as a way to celebrate fan-favorite athletes and the communities that connect to them most.
The Sandstorm Edition Box feature 1 limited edition pack along with a Battle Trainer Kit. The Battlefoil Edition Box includes 2 packs (1 non-foil and 1 Battlefoil pack). Presale buyers of this box were guaranteed a Xavier Legette Alt Art autograph.

Alt-Art EditionJust a few months after Alpha dropped, Philadelphia downed Kansas City to claim the title in football. The WCS Philly boxes commemorate the moment and live on as our second release of the World Champion Series.
We refined the WCS build and these boxes only came in 2 versions. First is the Battlefoil Edition with the "Headlines" themed cover featuring a pack of 10 limited edition cards. Second is the more rare, Alt-Art box that contains the same 10 card Battlefoil pack plus an exclusive alt-art pack of 3 bonus cards. Both boxes also include a Battle Trainer Kit (BTK) with 2 trainer decks and one Alpha Edition Collector Booster pack. Just like the LA Edition before it, these boxes feature heroes inspired by the winning team across all of their weapon types and feature WCS Football 25 Stamp.

Alt-Art EditionOklahoma City closed out the 2025 Hoops season as champs behind a young core that arrived ahead of schedule.
OKC was the same framework refined for Philly with only a Battlefoil Edition and Stormfoil Alt-Art Edition offered. Each box has the Battle Trainer Kit with 2 trainer decks and an Alpha Collector Booster Pack. They each have the Battlefoil limited edition pack, but the alt-art box has that extra pack of 3 alt-art cards. As always, these cards feature an exclusive Basketball World Champions Series ’25 stamp.

Alt-Art EditionEight months later, Alpha Update arrived with new heroes, new parallels, and a new wave of Inspired Ink.
Eight months after Alpha shipped, Alpha Update arrived with an expanded checklist, with Emmitt, Barry, Marino, and Ripken among the new additions, along with new Battlefoil parallels that gave collectors a fresh chase.
We recognized what worked in Alpha and leaned further into it for Update. Deeper checklists gave the set its own identity without losing the feel of what made Alpha a fan favorite.
Before Brawl officially rolled out in 2026 Edition, it showed up here first. We used the SCG promo to give collectors an early look at the new weapon type, and putting it on a BoJax card made the debut feel right from the start.
That also made the card a first in more ways than one. It wasn’t just an early Brawl preview, it was the first BoBA card made with a retail partner logo on the front, tying Star City Games to a real piece of BoBA history.
10 autographed versions (Inspired Ink) were randomly inserted as well which was a true chase for collectors hunting the debut.
Our first collaboration set launched at The National as BoBA’s crossover with Big League Chew. The yellow-foil NSCC Collector Bundle featured Bo Jackson and included Alpha Update Collector Booster packs along with an NSCC Big League Chew Battlefoil pack. This pack offered a shot at serialized Big League Chew cards as well as the N'25 Secret Starter ticket for Apex events.
With serialized chase cards, on-card autographs, and a checklist built around a brand generations of fans already knew, it added a new chapter to BoBA lore and showed that there's room for BoBA to keep exploring collaboration sets in the future.
There were 12 Rookie Power Ups Promos introduced at NSCC ’25. These Rookie Inspired Heroes were featured in Alpha Update and Alpha Edition and returned as Alt-Art chases for promotions at the Battle Arena Booth.
Along with these Rookie Power Ups we brought back some fan-favorite sidekicks in CJ, Billy, and Bombeezy sporting the 80’s Rad, Mixtape, and Grandma Linoleum Battlefoils. We also introduced Flava Flav as a sidekick who would later be introduced in BoBA 2026 Edition.

Just 750 boxes. Alpha Blast closed the Alpha Era with its most limited and premium release.
Alpha Blast was the final chapter of the Alpha Era and the most premium release of the run. With only 750 Alpha Blast boxes made, it was built as a celebration of everything people had come to chase in Alpha: short prints, bold designs, and big names, all wrapped in the kind of chase that made people tune in the moment a box got opened.
Each box came with 10 packs, one guaranteed on-card autograph numbered to five or less, and either a Pink Hex Blast 1/1 or a Bubblegum Blast insert. It also introduced Home Team Discount Plays, giving familiar plays from Alpha Edition and Alpha Update a new twist inside the final release. Every Blast card was limited to 16 copies or fewer, and the autograph lineup gave collectors one last shot at Alpha Era ink from names like Barry Sanders, Magic Johnson, Dan Marino, Allen Iverson, Steve Young, and Bo Jackson. Most of the run was ripped live for the world to see, but a small number of sealed boxes were given away for free. This felt like a fitting way to close Alpha: loud, limited, and built for the people who had been here from the start.
Back-to-back. Los Angeles became the first repeat World Series champs in twenty-five years, closing out the 2025 title and locking in the second LA box of the series. Two rings in two years — a dynasty unfolding in real time, and a fitting bookend to the first full year of the World Champion Series.
By now, the World Champion Series format had found its shape. The LA ’25 release came in a Battlefoil Edition and a rarer Alt-Art Edition. Each box has the Battle Trainer Kit with 2 trainer decks and an Alpha Collector Booster Pack. They each have the Battlefoil limited edition pack, but the alt-art box has that extra pack of 3 alt-art cards. As always, these cards feature an exclusive World Champions Series ’25 stamp.

Alt-Art EditionA new cover athlete. A new weapon type. The Griffey Set marked the next step for BoBA, fronted by the Kid himself.
The Griffey Set marked a turning point for BoBA. With Ken Griffey Jr. stepping in as the new cover athlete, the release introduced Brawl as a new weapon type and pushed the game forward in a way collectors and players could both feel right away.
It also reflected how much BoBA had grown by that point. The merger of the Collector Booster Box and Hobby Box brought more of the chase into one place, while a deeper lineup of inserts, parallels, retail exclusives, and autograph signers made the set feel built for a larger audience than ever before. Between Griffey at the front, Brawl entering the mix, and a format designed to meet growing demand, this was the release that opened the next chapter of BoBA.
The fifth WCS Box. Seattle won its second title a full decade after the first, giving the 12's another moment to celebrate.
For BoBA, it was another championship that belonged in the World Champion Series. Another box worth putting on the shelf for collectors and fans alike.

Alt-Art EditionA red, white, and blue tribute to a gold medal finish. This one stood apart in the World Champion Series, built around a championship won on international ice and carrying a different kind of patriotic pride than the rest.

A tribute to the game that helped define sports gaming for a generation, and to the athlete who defined the game itself. Tecmo Bowl Edition turned Bo Jackson’s 8-bit legend into one of the most distinctive releases in BoBA.
Tecmo Bowl Edition was built around a game a lot of collectors already had a real connection to. For a whole generation, Tecmo Bowl was part of growing up, and Bo Jackson was the name that came with it. If you played the game, you already knew the legend of Bo Jackson.
Tecmo Bowl Edition introduced officially licensed Tecmo Bowl art, the first 8-bit alt arts in BoBA, and an on-card autograph lineup built around legends who were icons in Tecmo Bowl and in real life. At the center of it all was the gold Touchdown Bo Jackson 1-of-1, which drew a six-figure bounty within an hour of announcement. For collectors who grew up with Tecmo Bowl, it wasn’t just a major hit. It was the grail card of their generation.
New York got its moment. After years of waiting, the city finally had another title to celebrate, and the World Champion Series had its next chapter. For BoBA, this was the kind of championship that felt made for the WCS line. A huge city, a long buildup, and a fan base that would want a box worth keeping on the shelf.
By this point, the World Champion Series format was fully established. The New York ’26 release came in both a Battlefoil Edition and an Alt-Art Edition.
