When we send an athlete their cards to sign, they always want to keep one.
But we are pretty non-negotiable when it comes to them keeping one of their best cards in the set. We refrain from giving them more than a steel auto because pack pulled provenance is important to us, and we're not changing that.
That's led to some funny moments. We've had to chase a few guys down to get cards back. They love seeing themselves as a Home Team Hero in BoBA. Which is an awesome feeling for us, but we can't let that get in the way of the product and the people who open it.
Then Barry Sanders had an idea.
Make a card just for the signers. Something to hand out as an "out of pack" promo. Not for playing. Just for collecting. And keep it separate from the real set.
So we did just that.

How to get one?
A few ways these could land in your hands:
- Look for giveaways from the Heroes themselves. We hand them their cards, and what they do with them is up to them. If and how they give one away is their call.
- Look for promos from us and our partners. You probably already know Bazooka's been featuring athletes from the Tecmo set checklist as guests on their shows. We're sending 5 cards per hero they've interviewed, with one rule. They have to give them away.
- Watch for them when we run shows from our channels. And keep your eyes open, because you never know where one might pop up.
One more thing. We expect these will get graded by PSA. We'll post a checklist and send samples to their research team. Heads up though, these aren't card numbered, so the checklist works off the hero name. Whether and how they grade them is their call.
