Introducing Checklist Format for BoBA

We’re excited to introduce a brand new way to experience Bo Jackson Battle Arena:

Checklist Format

This format is all about fresh gameplay, fun themes, and new ways to build and play.

What is the Checklist Format?

In Checklist Format, your Playbook is built from a curated list of Plays called a Checklist.

• You may only use Plays that appear on the Checklist.
• Every Checklist creates a completely different play experience.

Each Checklist is its own environment.

Each one tells a different story.

A New Way to Play BoBA

Checklist Format is designed to shake things up in the best way.

Instead of the same play patterns and familiar combinations, you’ll get:

• New interactions you haven’t seen before.
• Different pacing from game to game.
• Unexpected strategies that reward creativity.

Every Checklist changes how the game feels without changing how the game works.

Built Around Themes

This is where Checklist Format really shines.

Each Checklist can be built around a theme, such as:

• High offense, big swings.
• Control and disruption.
• Coin flips and chaos.
• Weapon-type focused gameplay.

Or anything else we want to explore.

Each format becomes its own mini-version of BoBA.

A Fresh Deckbuilding Challenge

Checklist Format isn’t about finding the “best” deck.

It’s about figuring out:

“How do I win in this environment?”

You’ll be working with a limited pool, which means:

• Every Play matters more.
• Every decision matters more.
• Creativity is rewarded.

Some of the most overlooked Plays suddenly become stars.

A Different Experience Every Time

Because Checklists can change, rotate, or be event-specific, no two Checklist formats have to feel the same.

One event might feel fast and explosive.

Another might feel tactical and grindy.

Another might be completely unpredictable.

Same Game, New Feel

All core gameplay remains the same:

• Same Playbook structure.

Checklist Format simply changes what tools you have access to.
