What Are Event Legal Proxies?

Event Legal Proxies (ELPs) are official Bo Jackson Battle Arena tournament proxies that allow players to compete using high-end Heroes without putting valuable graded cards at risk during gameplay. ELPs are completely optional. Players are always welcome to compete using their official cards instead. Graded cards are not required to participate in any bracket or division at Nationals.

Pre-Registration Pricing

Players who pre-register will receive the standard ELP rental rate of: $8 per Hero card To encourage players to complete the process before arriving, ELP rentals requested on-site during Nationals will cost $100 per Hero card. Pre-registering helps our staff prepare proxies in advance and keeps registration moving efficiently throughout the weekend.

Collateral Requirements

Each rented ELP requires the corresponding graded card as collateral. Collateral may be provided:

Physically at the event, or
Through an approved vaulting service.

Current approved vault providers are:

PSA Vault
Blokpax Vault

Once your ELPs are returned at the conclusion of the event, your graded cards will be returned as well.

Event Legal Proxy Details

All Event Legal Proxies:

Feature unique card backs
Are clearly watermarked "DO NOT GRADE"
Are valid only for the duration of the event
Cannot be sold or transferred

These measures help ensure ELPs remain official tournament materials and do not enter the secondary market.

Lost or Unreturned ELPs

Players are responsible for returning all rented ELPs. Any unreturned proxy will result in a charge equal to the current raw market value of the corresponding official card, as determined by the BoBA team.

Optional Theft Insurance

Players may purchase theft insurance for their rented ELPs for $99 per player. A police report is required to file a theft claim.

Why We Offer ELPs

Some BoBA Heroes have become highly collectible. While many players enjoy competing with those cards, others understandably prefer not to risk damaging or transporting valuable graded copies. Event Legal Proxies are designed as a community service that lets players enjoy high-level competition while protecting collectible cards. They are intended to reduce the risk of damage, improve the tournament experience, and make premium Heroes more accessible during Organized Play. If you prefer, you are always welcome to play with your official cards instead. We look forward to seeing everyone at The 2026 Bo Jackson World Championships!
